Ridiculous NIMBYism. The Granite Curling Club doesn't own the parking lot, or the building, the city does. Plus the city has a plan where only ten parking spots would be lost. Half of the units in the coming building would be affordable units, with a nearly a third of them rent-geared-to-income.

If "turn your back on the transes" was a sound electoral policy they would say that's what they're doing. The fact that they have to obliquely remonstrance about purity tests and vote abstinence shows they have no confidence in the idea.
