I was ten years old when I finally admitted to myself that I was gay. Ten years old. In the 70s. When there was NO representation, when 'fag' and 'homo' were daily slurs everyone used. Imagine having to deal with that at ten fucking years old. Zero support. Terrified anyone might find out.
