Yeah. It's difficult because in that way the film fails because there are large swaths of the audience who now kinda feel sorry for her or even like her. But that's just starship troopers discourse again. Is it a film's fault that American audiences are the most brainless pack of lemmings alive?
Show PostThe movie makes Elizabeth and Billy look like completely manipulative pieces of shit. It also shows us how well meaning people who should and do know better can still be taken in by it. That was my take away anyway
Show PostI think the truth of Theranos is well documented and her fraud clearly established. I didn't get the sense that the documentary was interested in relitigating this well worn territory, but rather trying to better understand the kind of person that could do that. And it succeeded at that, to me.
Show Postand why I think it is so fascinating is because Fielder gets at something (I think) much deeper than Errol Morris’ usual approach of ‘who knows what the truth here is??’ would’ve been. he shows she’s full of shit just by asking her to see the device and how it (didn’t) work then moving on
Show PostI’ve been thinking about this Slappy & Skippy Abbot & Costello parody since Friday.
