Congratulations to @dazhi-li.bsky.social and members of the Reinisch and De Camilli groups @pdc-lab.bsky.social on their recent work on the structure of Bridge-like lipid transfer protein VPS13C!
Ver postExcited to see this study, in collaboration with the De Camilli group @pdc-lab.bsky.social, published in its final format! We resolved the structure of VPS13C and found that it adopts a lipid-transfer-incompetent conformation. We also show that CaM binds VPS13s and may help regulate their function.
Ver postThis amazing work by @danialv.bsky.social and Bodan Hu is now out in peer-reviewed form at @cp-cell.bsky.social with a lot of new simulations! Check it out if interested in lipid transport!
Ver postReinisch's lab work with the Vanni's lab is online in Cell!! Combining cryoEM and MD simulations, we reveal how the bridge-like lipid-transfer protein VPS13A works with the scramblase XK to deliver lipids to plasma membrane and redistribute them across the bilayer. www.cell.com/cell/fulltex...
Ver postLipid scramblases and BLTPs are key to regulate cellular lipid dynamics. Justin Korfhage and I described in-vitro methods to study lipid scrambling by protein insertases and ATG2-mediated lipid transfer on artificial lipid droplets. www.sciencedirect.com/science/chap...
