Latest #CDlab paper on BioRxiv: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... How do intercalators affect DNA loop extrusion by SMC proteins? Brian Analikwu found that they lower SMC binding and extrusion speed. Also, he shows a new assay without intercalators that shows loop extrusion but at twice the speed!

New preprint: clear signs that variant effect predictors are now shaping ClinVar labels. Good for clinical use, but it creates circularity: predictors are trained, benchmarked and calibrated on labels that predictors helped create. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

How do computational predictors compare with experimental assays (MAVEs) for variant classification? Across five hereditary cancer genes, MAVE scores were more conservative (fewer pathogenic calls) yet more decisive (fewer indeterminate calls) after ACMG/AMP calibration. doi.org/10.1186/s130...

Our latest #CDlab paper on BioRxiv: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... Led by 1st author Jaco van der Torre, we report our technique to create long (100 kb) DNA molecules with entirely user-defined sequences. We use this to design motif-depleted DNA sequences for single-molecule experiments.
