On this day in 1864, Halle Tanner Dillon Johnson was born. She passed “unusually severe” exams to become the 1st woman & the 1st black woman licensed to practice medicine in Alabama. After earning her license, she served as a medical doctor for the Tuskegee Institute. #WeTheMen
