It sounds as if he’s trying to incite progroms against Somalis. Black- and Jewish-Americans weren’t the only ones lynched in the US. Italian Americans got lynched in New Orleans in the 1890s. It could happen again.

I agree that the reporting is soft. But what’s worse is the misleading headline writing. Many consume media on their phones. The headline is often the only part of the story they engage with. I believe NYT does this to avoid blowback from one notoriously thin-skinned DC-based reader in particular
