Investing in yaoi so unconsidered their supports haven’t even been transcribed
Show PostMy hope is AI-dev'd clone games will also hit a similar point and the economics will weed them out. The low barrier to entry on Steam, etc. offers bigger incentives to try right now compared to doujins, but as cheap compute increasingly dries up, so too will these opportunists, I'd like to think. 😮💨
Show PostNamely, doujins don't make for quick, easy money. In the vast majority of cases, people do it expecting to lose money or, at best, break even between the time and labor required to produce it, as well as the cost of actually publishing them. Very, very few artists make a living off of them.
Show PostIt's cold comfort to any devs dealing with it in the here and now, but this does already have precedent: doujinshi. In Japan there were concerns early on that the scene would be flooded with AI releases, but that pretty much hasn't been the case from what I've observed for these exact reasons.
