I wanted to give my algebra 2 students something to do with complex numbers beyond computing, but not needing trig, e, etc. So I made this set of tasks to explore connections to geometric transformations. I think they got a lot out of it! #iteachmath #mtbos drive.google.com/file/d/1IMGt...
Show PostNow that I have tenure I can finally say this with my chest: boards of trustees/regents/etc. were a huge mistake and every university needs to dismantle them ASAP.
Show PostI warned them against all variations of this!
Show PostMany of these will be those kinds of injuries, but it's not just small sample noise. It's too great and I didn't show this but it's sustained year after year after year after year. (SF has had ~200 of these injuries in the last decade, avg team ~140.)
Show PostAnother reason, I think, is that the purpose of exercises like these is to help train mathematics students to use the tools as much as it is to prove the theorem itself
