You might rightly point out that companies are responsible for far more emissions than individuals, but you don't seem to be factoring the emissions of every company you give money to into your carbon footprint. Why should I?
Show PostHave you quantified your carbon footprint and worked to reduce it? In other words, do you consistently believe that making choices to lower your carbon footprint is a moral imperative, or is that something you only believe once AI enters the picture?
Show PostGreat point! Just a few quick questions: how often do you eat red meat? are you a vegan? Do you have a car? If you do, did you buy new or used? And is it gas, or electric? How do you heat your home? Have you flown recently? And was it because you WANTED to? or because you had to?
Show PostYeah it turns out that the volunteers can use AI to more effectively accomplish tasks that might otherwise be difficult or even impossible to do with the resources they have available. Money, staff, volunteers, and vulnerability mitigations do not grow on trees.
Show PostNice work, and to all the salty replies: uhh feel free to maintain public benefit software yourself, rather than whining about tool use.
