the funniest result of 1968 is perhaps Zhou Enlai being asked in 1972 'what do you think about the French revolution' and saying 'it is too soon to tell' because he was talking about *1968* not 1789 and this resulting in decades of orientalist 'the chinese think in centuries' stuff
Show Posta lot of '68 was rooted in the specifically shitty conditions imposed on French students (and was successful in causing change in that, at least!). Not being able to have your girlfriend/boyfriend over in your room was a big thing!
