There's definitely some examples that I'm certain that I would have been positively—and deservedly—hammered for as a student. If I was in doubt, I cited. If my paraphrasing didn't work, I quoted. Bad people pointing out misconduct for bad faith reasons doesn't make it not misconduct.

They’d have to actually regulate multinational companies run by billionaires though, and so far only the EU is really giving that a go. Even there, issues like preserving real-time information dissemination don’t seem to be on anyone’s radar.

The problem is that with pet insurance you don't have to come up with $5000+ at the drop of a hat when you don't necessarily already have that saved up. Yes, the insurance company will statistically win out, but they have the cash reserve right now.
