I talked to him just a little bit more and found out he's not a writer, not trying to get into Hollywood, none of that stuff. He just loves movies. I feel like I just had an encounter with a unicorn. Anyway, I'm sharing that for anybody who might feel better hearing it.

I said "Oh, I don't know about that!" thinking he was humoring me. But then he said "It is. You try to sense the higher potential of an art form and hold the artist to that standard." He'd never read me, and that was fine. I was grateful to meet one eloquent person in the wild who felt that way.
