Its the most significant problem with US politics: if a party has nothing to compete with they will do almost nothing thats beneficial to the public, and if they only have corrupt fascists to compete with they will constantly move to the right, doing more corruption & fascism.

It’s not just Rs, it’s also Dems. I thought Nancy Pelosi was one of the good ones until I learned (in the last week or two) that her stock trades are so profitable that a company advertises they’ll shadow her trades for your $. Something is rotten.
