In the foreground, nestled below the Kingston Bridge is the former Renfrew Ferry (now an entertainment venue), which was built in the 1950s and once carried cars across the Clyde between Renfrew and Yoker, before being replaced firsy by the Clyde Tunnel and then a new bridge in 2025.

I really think some of my colleagues in the Parliamentary lobby need a bit of a break. The reporting at the moment is so frantic and a bit hysterical. Today Burnham is being accused of a major U-turn because he said he would look at something and then said he won't move ahead with it currently.

The Wirral peninsula is very badly served for buses - especially the bit that falls under Cheshire West and Cheshire. Of course, you can always get a train from Bidston to, say, Neston. Or stay on until Wrexham… Chester, Liverpool? No chance from West Wirral!
