Several of the Pulitzer winners for fiction are collections of short stories. I realized I only like short stories (same with short films) if they're funny, scary, or have a surprise ending. If it's just some little drama where somebody realizes something or comes of age, I'm not interested.

Feels like this day is getting closer. Lesson one will be "people who weaponize their mental health so that you can't critique them without looking like a monster, which is of course by design." It will be a five week class.
