Re: prices for next gen consoles: If these are being determined because of the RAM shortage & tariffs, why not pump the brakes & wait until those factors have gone away or at least calmed down? I don’t understand this rush to a new gen right now. Feels like the current one has barely started.

Rape and abuse are the centerpiece pillars of today’s American right. Period. Everything else they do flows downstream from their belief that they have the right to dominate the bodies of those they deem inferior, and that it isn’t a crime when they do it. The Vivek ad is just the latest expression.

An avowed, adjudicated rapist who was best friends with America’s most famous pedophile has had an iron cult-like grip on half of American politics for over a decade. It has had a gravitational, transformational effect on that party, and they weren’t exactly pro-women-and-girls to begin with.

Trump was caught on tape bragging about sexual assault, and Republicans elected him anyway. Since that moment, they have been the party of rape & rapists. It’s not that they don’t care - it’s that the violence is an essential part of their identity as a party. This is the natural end point of that.
