My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review of THE HAPPINESS OF THE KATAKURIS boxd.it/gUvyB5 Despite Miike's usual grotesqueries, focus on central family provides his sweetest & most hopeful narrative. Overstuffed with ideas, but eager to please, it's hard to resist musical mash-up of genres. Gleefully demented. #filmsky 📽

What kind of film John Ford would have made out of To Kill A Mockingbird? There are echoes and rhythms of Sergeant Rutledge throughout that American classic, but Ford's film, in the first hour, is much more beautifully filmed the shadows and spotlights of the courtroom are incredible.
