Also had an old lady character who had a Jug of Alchemy that only made butterscotch sweets that she would hand out as rewards for good behaviour and occasionally cast animate object on to create a swarm of deadly sweets.

So technically the magic bit was non combat. My scout character had a Sword of Warning. But it was defective so it just screamed like an angry goat when it sensed danger. He also didn't know where the sleep button was.
