The NOAA SWPC model for the filament CME has just been released. It is a bit earlier than NASA M2M's prediction. SWPC Is predicting that the CME may deliver a glancing blow to Earth around 4 UT on Oct 14. This is just one of a range of possibilities which include the CME not arriving at all.
Show PostApparently there have been stories aired on news stations, even ABC World News, about the possibility of widespread northern lights displays tonight across the U.S. This is unlikely at the moment given current solar wind conditions.
