In #MathsToday, one class managed to derail the lesson for about half an hour by asking how to fairly divide two biscuits between five people. Of course we ended up with the cake cutting algorithms by way of the ham sandwich theorem. And they say maths isn't practical. #HoagieHomies #UKMathsChat

I don’t know what Emily’s educational CV is but here in Scotland my job as class teacher was very much to design the lesson. There’s very few off the shelf resources written aligned to the Scottish curriculum.

Ha! The superintendent from the school system I used to work for just said his teachers were doing ‘whatever hell they want to do’. I can guarantee if all teachers teach the lesson provided by the district at the same pace, test scores would drop.
