this aligns with atproto philosophy imo — your data (like follows) are stored as a set of records, and your apps (like bluesky) interpret those records. the key part is records aren’t tied to apps, and a new app can interpret them differently

I think in that kind of comments there's definitely some element of pushback against any kind of "algorithmization", because it's associated with manipulation on sites like Twitter/Facebook, so people have a similar reaction as when they hear "AI"… the same people probably distrust the Discover feed
