Some great points here, but I have to dispute the idea that NIMBYism is now largely the domain of some weirdo academics...in my experience, large majoraties of normie people from all political backgrounds are reflexively and actively NIMBY!

I sometimes hear from folks, “that’s ok…we’ll turn those states purple,” and sad to say: not gonna happen. Have you SEEN what they teach in schools in FL and TX??

The ADA does not apply to residential buildings, and the Fair Housing Amendments Act – which does – does not apply to buildings with fewer than four units. Just say accessibility if that’s what you mean!
