One last thing about X tonight: noting X has 10x the number of regular users than Bluesky means jack shit when a) a shitload are bots, b) the algorithm boosts right-wing content over everything else so actual engagement there sucks, c) 10 million active accounts is more than enough to hang out with.

My friends at the Mexican restaurant kept texting me to ask me why I wasn’t there in the past two weeks. (I was, but only once) and then I showed up and they made me cry, immediately. I 💜 my neighborhood. (The bartender texted me a few days ago because the cleaning lady was asking about me.)

The idea that we are obliged to save the online fascists and nazis from themselves is not one I subscribe to, I've been online for 30+ years now and the number of right-wing chuds who have ever engaged in "dialogue" for any reason except to waste other people's time can be counted on a single hand.
