@jhenninger.bsky.socialPittsburgh! On Tues Oct 20 I'm at Carnegie Mellon giving the Carl & Amy Jones Lecture in Interdisciplinary Science. It will be about the Many Worlds of Quantum Mechanics. Hope to see you there. www.givecampus.com/schools/Carn...
Show PostI'm very honored that our research was covered by the New York Times! @alexaroblesgil.bsky.social wrote a beautiful piece that captures the science & mystery of cephalopod camouflage: www.nytimes.com/2026/10/12/s... I want to emphasize that this project is the result of an incredible team effort...
Show Post⚡Preprint alert⚡ So proud of @amohamed98.bsky.social! Abdallah determined the cryo-EM structure of BRD4 bound to the kinase P-TEFb, defining the molecular basis of this key transcription interaction — and revealing that BRD4 and AFF4 binding are mutually exclusive to P-TEFb. Lots more inside 👇
Show PostNew #RibackLab preprint! The nucleolus's biophysical properties aren't fixed—they're tuned to energy availability. Under nutrient limitation, nucleoli hibernate: stronger interactions, slower rRNA transport, rapid reversal upon refeeding. Led by incredible postdoc @evdokiiap.bsky.social 🧵👇
Show PostHow do nuclear compartments form inside cell nuclei? We show RNA glues certain loci together to form a nuclear compartment. This involves special GC-rich regions of highly expressed genes that also associate with nuclear speckles, but interactions between these loci are independent of speckles!
