I can't count how many times I've heard @fumeiji.bsky.social say something to the effect of, "Ugh, I just got paid for that commission, but PayPal put a hold on it, and I'm not sure when I'll actually have access to the money." And we've both dealt with really shitty holds on bank transfers/checks.

(for those who just actually don’t know: most nfts are on ethereum, which moved to proof-of-stake last september, reducing emissions to basically nothing. if people were at all serious about the environmental impacts this would have been celebrated. i’ll let you guess whether that happened)
