I know many skills, plugin where researchers create their own checking of crossref, OpenAlex etc for hallucinations but I'm sure they rather outsource to a "professional" or at least widely used standard checker (even if closed source) and thirdiron stands a chance of being one.
Show PostNext step after that is check for "faithful citations" , paper exists but is mistated. That's a far harder issue.. but existing one
Show PostAll this supports what I have been saying. Librarians overly obsess over hallucinated references. This is a problem with a technical solution and its a matter of time it will at best be a slightly annoying problem
Show PostSuch citation reference existence checker is fairly trivial to do. Every month I get people asking me try their service ... But thirdiron has scale... Hundreds of institutions support libkey nomad. Short of GS button , I suspect they are the most installed browser extension of their class.
Show Post1) I thought we all knew that bird people are even worse than horse people (and only slightly behind gun people) in this department. Beware. 2) Editor is not the same role as fact-checker. 3) What a shitty thing to say when his editor has probably stopped him showing his arse a hundred other ways.
