@climatehandle.bsky.socialFour standard deviations from the mean is an extremely rare event that happens less than 0.01% of the time. 1% is one chance in 100 0.1% is one chance in 1000 0.01% is one chance in 10,000 It means that this event is unlikely to be purely random and is likely being driven by exogenous factor(s).
Show PostThe only known, proven exogenous climate factor happening now is AGW. In modern manufacturing if we got a variability signal over 3 sigma would would stop the process, find the source of the variability and fix it, then restart the process and prove that it has returned to normal variability.
Show PostBut we can't stop extreme weather events from happening while we fix the climate. And we can't fix the climate without admitting we broke it by pumping gigatons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and that we must stop doing this, right fucking now, or things will only get worse. Much worse.
Show PostYour 'moment of doom' for Aug 26, 2026 ~ Ack!!! "Dozens of multi-storied buildings, trucks, and vans were buried under vast quantities of mud in the district of Nuwakot, one of the worst-affected areas." www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...
Show PostThank you very much Prof. And I asked AI to predict the future of 20 years from here out based on your graph and I've got this. Is this right?
