“I should only pay taxes for things I use” is a fun precept to adopt after you’ve stopped using services that were funded by the full tax base — you would have needed to pay much much more when your kids were in school if seniors hadn’t been pitching in with property taxes back then!

The whole article is an excellent read, but man, this part really spoke to me. The same folks who couldn't summon the political will for accountability after Bush2 and Trump 1, have no right to lecture the "yoooths" on their disillusionment with the institutions that have failed them.
