i am not surprised it’s bombing tho. i have no idea how you’d market this movie. they should’ve basically just leaned into the idea that it’s lynchian and weird and you don’t know what you’re getting into instead of making it seem like the movie is the thing it reveals itself not to be

this film is a takedown of the thing it’s being accused of being. it kind of reminds me of how people didn’t understand civil war (another movie plemons steals)

And I have yet to read a spoiler-filled review that acknowledges the message of Cruise's big monologue to Europe and similarities to what he gets out of Plemons and his company. (Doing my best to write cryptically so I don't spoil it for people who may see this.) Too many think it's strictly "woke."
