@dportik.bsky.socialThe sylph metagenome profiler is v1.0.0! sylph-docs.github.io A new DB format + approach --> huge performance gains: GTDB-R232 (200k species) now takes < 5 GB of RAM and ~30s (2GB fq.gz). Huge thanks to @benjwoodcroft.bsky.social and his ongoing performance efforts (github.com/wwood/weebill)
Show PostSPRQ-Nx chemistry is now shipping worldwide, bringing sub-$300 HiFi genomes to the Revio platform! This global rollout cuts sequencing costs by 30%, making it easier than ever to scale high-throughput workflows Full press release here: bit.ly/49HwmcL #SPRQNx #PacBio #HiFisequencing #Revio
Show PostThat's an interesting point...again, cool stuff!
Show PostHi Steven, I totally agree with Alex. In complex communities with many unknown microbes, such as soil, supervised mod calling models might have bias. In contrast, our new mod calling method is fully unsupervised, thereby avoiding such risks.
Show PostCongratulations @wshuai.bsky.social and co-authors! We’re excited to introduce MODIFI, our new scalable method for detecting DNA modifications in PacBio metagenomic data and estimating ECE-host linkage. Check out the preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
