When I read Matthew Vines lecture about how “queer” was used to convey anger and “that sentiment had an understandable resonance at the height of the AIDS epidemic, but the us-versus-them posture it represented has outlived that crisis”, I think of how many people died back then and I get angry.

Anyway. Our AC unit in the sanctuary was broken yesterday on a 103 F day, our homelessness survival kits are dependent on the mobility of one elderly sweet angel, and our staff are trying to get it all done w/o overtime so we can still feed people. So.

I can't emphasize how mad it makes me when I hear someone say they have to stay (and give, and support, and promote) their comfy, sexy, popular anti-queer anti-feminist church because they are actually making a difference there, unlike they would be at an affirming church risking everything to love.
