The Homeowner Generation was told that property was a retirement investment. Property prices, like corporate revenues, must only ever go up over time. Social security was stealing wealth. Pensions vanished. Now their "investments" stagnate, they have no liquidity, and they want their handouts back.

It's time for WI to adopt a wealth tax. When agriculture was king, property tax made sense. When industry was the thing, income tax made sense. Now that an ever-increasing share of our economy is based on investments, a wealth tax is needed to ensure the ultra-rich pay their fair share.
