when I first brought Adonis home, he hid under the bed for a few days and I sat there with him singing so he would get used to my voice. now, just shy of 2 years later, any time I start singing I get these wonderfully sweet "before and after you hear Mama singing to you" moments

the only non-negotiable for writing is you have to read. doesn't matter if you're writing comics, prose, screenplays. read. read books, articles, scripts, comics. fiction and non-fiction. read lots of 'em and never stop reading.

We live in a society that punishes people who are assaulted. We question them, we shame them, we disbelieve them. Many survivors instinctively do that societal work for us. Survivors question themselves, they shame themselves, they don't believe their own version of events. We've trained them!
