@tylanberry.bsky.socialI for instar #Arachtober as I don't have any 'I' spiders (maybe @tylanberry.bsky.social @chalkspring.bsky.social etc?) Instar is any stage in the development between moults. The instar immediately before maturity is described as being subadult. Some spiders have a set amount, others are variable.
Show PostTapinesthis inermis(?) from a wildlife garden in Oxfordshire - knew it was something weird in the field with its almost purplish colour and spineless legs. First for the UK if confirmed! @britishspiders.bsky.social @chalkspring.bsky.social @tylanberry.bsky.social @cofnod.org.uk
Show PostThe Nationally Rare Linyphiid, Minicia marginella, picked up at it’s type UK location last week.
Show PostShreyas, I’ll let Richard @cofnod.org.uk respond on this but I’d be surprised if voucher needed
Show PostThe day after I posted this - a handsome adult male A. numida from Central Oxford (Pic 1-2), followed by another one in the house (Pic 3). @britishspiders.bsky.social @cofnod.org.uk I assume I can release, or would a voucher be needed?
