Listened to an anecdote from Mel Brooks about seeing Frankenstein (the 1931 Karloff movie) when he was 5 & being terrified. He locked his windows. It was stifling in the tenement. His mother carefully explained the trip Frankenstein's monster would have to take, by ship, and bus to get to Brooklyn--
