Ex-boss filed a $12 theft charge against an ex-employee because she got a restraining order in response to his creepy behavior. Charge was never prosecuted, but it gave ICE an excuse to arrest and detain her. Congratulations to the 58 Democrats who voted for the Laken Riley Act. You own this.

Bosses charging ex- or current employees with theft is weirdly common -- I started looking into it once. It's a way to make a person's life miserable and a weird way to claw back wages (by arguing someone owes thousands of dollars for theft).
