Marc Andreessen is constantly lying about his personal political views. As someone who was a Republican political consultant during the Obama years, I can tell you: Andreesen was a Republican. We all saw him as such. He pretends now to have been on the left. Nope, he was always a rw libertarian.

I'm all for success. I want an economy that creates fewer trillionaires and more millionaires. Right now our tax system literally taxes work more than it taxes wealth. And I think that's backwards.

I will brave the wrath of bluesky and say that I actually do think property taxes are a little fraught. there are many other taxing mechanisms that more directly correlate to people’s ability to pay them. but to your point, you have to tax *something*

I agree and think there are lots of better ways to generate state revenue than high residential property taxes. But if we’re just not going to try those ways, residential property taxes it is!
