When you get an egomaniac who doesn't give a shit about democratic norms and give him a staff of toadies who venerate him, you get garbage like this. (It's a good time to shift to paying for everything digitally...) www.vanityfair.com/news/story/t...
Show PostUh oh. NASEM workshop on 'scientific integrity' features fireside chats w/leaders of the flawed Santa Clara serological survey - Jay Bhattacharya and John Ioannidis - who claimed that COVID was 50x-85x milder than believed and perhaps similar to flu. 🧵 www.nationalacademies.org/projects/DBA...
Show PostThreaded some below but Bhattacharya suggested in his Senate confirmation that vaccines could cause autism, which is one of the most studied and best answered questions that exists. No vaccine causes autism. And he continues to support the COVID “lab leak,” which has been found to have zero evidence
Show PostLook at pretty much any of his work and you will see that he starts with a conclusion first, and then works backwards by torturing data to fit his narrative and advance his own personal opinions. It’s not science; it is willful disinformation in the service of self-promotion, eugenics, and fascism.
Show Post“Flawed” is generous. Bhattacharya has been using credentials to push a harmful, anti-scientific agenda since at least 2020. The mentioned study violated legal & ethical standards, has results that were off by multiple orders of magnitude, and he used it to advocate for mass infection w/o mitigation
