it was pretty good right up to the last episode, simply delete Emmaline and it's a pretty good adaptation (then again I also watched the original movie right after and it's *way* better)

Plus, what's the fucking legality on that kind of rig. What's the crash rating on one of those? If you jump-jet over a road-work sign, is that against traffic laws? At what point is that considered an airspace violation? The cute gimmick betrays an inability to think about real-world consequences

EXACTLY! The holw "use jump jets on a car" is kinda cool, in a show-boating or stunt work sort of way. But I don't drive a car to do stunts. I drive a car to get to work, or pick up groceries. I don't need to drive up a cliff face or hover over obstacles.
