I'm kind of conflict about this as well. If we take his account of the events and his attitude towards them at face value, what exactly should I justice look like here? The popular answer seems straightforwardly retributive as opposed to restorative. What would restorative justice look like here?

it's weird to see people, especially anticarceral leftists, suggest that someone who does a bad thing should atone themselves of it by permanently removing themselves from public life, and that the public should shun them forever.

This is awful, but I do have to wonder about a lot of the comments saying how bad it is that he's admitting it, like... ...what outcome do we want, here? I'm not sure we should be encouraging people to lie about abuse because admitting to it looks worse.
