Sometimes I go on podcasts even when they have no followers or episodes. They ask why. Because: 1. I don't make life decisions based on "number of followers." 2. Persistence 3. Did research (i.e. showed genuine care) 4. Had good questions that I wanted to answer. Don't need an audience for 2-4.

Performative stupidity is one of the worst failings. The “I can’t do this, so it must be pointless and boring” attitude is archetypal of the most awful people, uninterested in learning, uninterested in expanding their worlds, interested only in themselves and those that mindlessly agree.

I think it’s an excellent illustration of the failure of education systems of the past to teach analytic thought and adequate writing skills. I like to think that we do rather better in schools nowadays; on this evidence it would be difficult to do worse.
