I think the same thing is true of long-running creative projects. It'd be weird if a musician's style and interests didn't change between albums, weird if every single book a writer wrote was the same. And that change manifests in a series written over a decade, too.
Postu gösterThat doesn't mean you have to tolerate the intolerable, but no one is going to be the same at 45 that they were at 17, and it would be legitimately weird otherwise.
Postu gösterPerhaps this is more marriage talk than fan experience talk, but I think an important quality to cultivate to long-haul it through a relationship is a sense of openness and an appreciation of change.
Postu gösterAnd, if you're consistently displeased with the things it does, you're free to divorce the series (or a partner). But I like the change, and I'm willing to find new things to celebrate about it even if they aren't the same things I fell in love with when I binge-watched the anime in 2021.
Postu gösterI appreciate the new things it delves into, I fondly remember the things it's been through even if some of them have fallen to the wayside. It's a growing and developing story in the way a person grows and develops. Things change, but they change in a direction I can love as well.
