    However, I do see the practical value of the lottery to keep this manageable. But then there must be some compensation mechanism for the unlucky one's. Perhaps that next year they will be able to pass on to round 2 without lottery of they are reviewed well again in stage 1?

    Proposal for a new system: (1) 4-page first submission. (2) Selected ones enter a lottery (3) Few enter second-stage review of a full proposal (4) Only the very likely successful ones go to interview to check the applicant's understanding, with a success rate of ~80%.

    Das sind noch Nachwahl-Befragungen, oder? Könnte es sein, dass auch hier - wie bei den Umfragen vor den Wahlen - ein polling error drinsteckt und die Unterstützung für Demokraten sogar noch größer ist?

    There might be other data to consider, but at least these exit polls suggest the gender voting gap among young voters has remained stable since 2024. Both young women and men have shifted toward Democrats. Obviously, there are turnout differences between midterm and presidential election years.
