Endorsed. There are two useful but imaginary universes: One where you can infinitely repeat identical data generating processes, and one where probabilities are just, like your opinion, man. I fully encourage people to pick, choose and even change which one they want to live in as they see fit 😜

NZ is a latecomer to solar. But solar generation has just exceeded fossil (gas + coal) for not just a day, or a week, but for a complete 6-month period: May to October 2026. This doesn't just cut emissions, save gas for other uses, and lower prices, it also holds water back in the lakes for later.

OK here is the long thread. This paper for me marks the beginning of the end of a long story which I’ve written much about over the years. The novel methods employed here give new insights that upend much of what we know about long covid from EHR studies. www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Even adjusting for the increase in roll size, the last two days of voting have exceeded 2020 turnout, which can't be bad news. The 2026 roll numbers will increase, but probably not an amount that would make a big dent in this rate, like maybe 30-40,000 max from 24 & 25 October enrolments?
