2/ My somewhat more practical take is we’ll know soon, via initial claims, if we’re actually seeing a meaningful aggregate increase in layoffs. Also - the GS layoff tracker has been running consistently above late 2010s levels for the past few years, contradicting JOLTS. Gives me pause…
