*snort * Listen. It’d have worked on me.
Show PostExcellent thread, and also I would like this idea that you cannot write creative, moving work if it’s also tie-in to die in a fire. I can satisfy corporates and make you cry at the same time, they don’t preclude each other.
Show PostI know lots of tie-in writers. I grew up reading tie-ins (the Robotech novels are AMAZING). WarCraft novels turned my little brother into an avid reader. I have an awesome idea for a TOS novel and probably a dozen TNG and DS9 novels in mind, too. I think writing a tie-in would be tons of fun
Show PostNews you can use! The Chatelaine (also published as Armed in Her Fashion) is my first and weirdest book. It you liked Mercutio, you will probably like The Chatelaine, which has a similar vibe and time period. (Late 13th/early 14th c.) (And vice versa!)
Show Postthere is something very specifically thrilling about an artist you have admired for years hanging your work on their wall 😌
