I really appreciate conferences like ThriveLib. This year is no exception. But I can't help but think that library administration should be attending these sessions to prevent the burnout in the first place. Instead, it's employees trying to bandaid their mental health + tenuous employment.

And more importantly, said guidelines and expectations need to be enforced and administration needs to back up the library workers when they do enforce them. Otherwise, what's the point?

We say burnout like we say "I'm starving" clinical burnout has 3 components 1) emotional exhaustion 2) cynicism and detachment 3) reduce accomplishment from today's second session #thrivelib
