burnout, scope creep, and our art being used as dick waving contests as to who wins the bigger budget or break out moment. now many are told 'go indie' and all of us know just how unreasonable that is after everyone has been wrung completely dry. You cant capitalism your way out of this

there is nothing wrong with making and creating things, we need that. There is nothing wrong with having a goal to make something that employs your friends, or brings back jobs - but we need more collective solutions that do more than trying to PROVE our mediums deserve respect.

we dont need to prove anything ,we've proven it people infantilize our mediums and no amount of billion dollar or popular projects is gonna change it , we need to act and function like *WE* respect our own time, and that means not scrabbling around to impress leeches.

As someone who had a mother who was in video games, I dont separate the industry as much from animation/tv/film considering how it functions. Games are younger as an industry, but we're all plagued by the same people who actually *dont like the thing* being in charge.
