I write about space, in several places. Used to write about other stuff? But now it's mostly space. I also talk about gaming here, though. Also politics, sadly and mostly unwillingly. (Also proudly on several "genAI hater" blocklists.)

Anything less turns into another round of "Let's form a committee to investigate the viability of an impressive $100m fine on the 20 billion dollar company payable by 2045" or "Let's make them say what they did in front of congress as punishment!" both of which just are demonstrably useless actions.

Yes, I know the legislative branch of the government can't just jail people. But if your party's plan doesn't ultimately end with these people deposed, their companies dismantled, and potentially jailing the powerful individuals involved in nat'l crimes you're not taking this situation seriously.

No actual thing such as "Shadow TMEM" exists. No amount of weird masked loads or texture behavior as documented in this renderer exists at all. The hardware behavior is widely documented by now and it is far less complex than what the AI is pretending it is.

Please disclose the amount of AI usage more clearly. The amount of hallucinations I've seen in this codebase gives me second-hand embarrassment, and the project is deliberately hiding the actual repository just so the LLM documentation and the commit history is hidden from the public.

This sums up the frantic and coerced deployment of "AI" throughout public and private sectors. Results of even cursory audits are horrifying every time, invariably paired with forced adoption and retaliation for asserting professional norms. Colonialism is a cherry on top.
